Description

Surge arresters of Type 2 are designed to protect low-voltage DC systems from surges at the boundaries of lightning protection zones 0B-2 and higher. The APS Surge protection device is Class II approved. It protects PV photovoltaic panels against lightning by providing overvoltage protection. The device is connected in series with the DC cables of the solar panel strings. Surge Arrestors protect solar panels and inverters from lightning strikes, and the PST31PV from APS includes a high-energy MOV, thermal fuse, and thermal disconnection mechanism. There is also a remote-control signal option.
